Welcome and thank you for visiting our website!
The CDC recently announced the 2011 – 2014 awardees for the STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers (PTC) grant. Eight clinical training centers were funded across the U.S., in contrast to the 10 centers funded in previous years; as a result, the coverage areas for several PTCs were expanded. We are pleased to announce that the New York City STD/HIV PTC will now serve the states of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.
The New York City STD/HIV PTC is based out of the Bureau of STD Prevention and Control at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and we have served as a PTC for the past 11 years. Our mission is to reduce sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV morbidity and to improve reproductive health by addressing the educational needs of clinical providers in Region II, which now includes New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
Though we are new to the Midwestern states in our region, we have a long history of collaboration with our training partners across the country. We are committed to meeting your STD and HIV educational needs and are working to further relationships and develop training. We would love to hear about any training needs you may have; please contact us at nycptc@health.nyc.gov with questions.
Thank you!
